Houston Japan Fest

Kaminari Taiko will once again headline Houston Japan Fest, one of the largest and most vibrant annual festivals in the city. Set in beautiful Hermann Park, Japan Fest celebrates Japanese culture with a wide variety of cultural demonstrations, food, performances, martial arts, music, vendors, and activities.

Between performances, you'll have a chance to try taiko for yourself! We'll be offering a series of short introductory taiko workshops throughout the day. Come find us on the plaza at the far end of the reflecting pool, near the Sam Houston statue. The workshops are free; registration is first-come, first-served.

If you're planning to drive to the festival, please be aware that there is limited parking inside Hermann Park, and it generally fills up by early afternoon. If you are not arriving first thing in the morning, we strongly recommend parking along the MetroRail line and taking the train to the Hermann Park/Rice U station. You can find MetroRail info here: Red Line Rider Guide & Maps.

See you at the festival!
